I think this is very nice, first page or not. Love the colors that contrast so nicely with the photos.

I have a Ryan too (the same age as well) so this one jumped out of the gallery at me. I have always liked colour blocking so I think this page is great! For a first layout, it's fabulous, especially the drop shadows on the name Ryan. Well done!
