What a great idea. I'll be looking for the followup layouts. I like the letters you used for her name. They look like letter jacket letters. The old feel of the paper design works great, too.

I think this is a wonderful layout--I love how the top left paper picks up the yellow from the school bus, and you've included all the important information in a well-balanced way. The cardboard edge is just the right touch!

Awesome layout, Bobbie! I love the focus! You did a great job clustering the embellishments around the picture, which really draws the viewers attention. Having the patterned paper up in the corner is great - it adds some interest and builds your color scheme, while still leaving plenty of white space. Great job!

If I might offer a little CC (you did ask, :)), I would have you change things around so that you don't have trapped space......yeah, I know - I haven't gotten a sample for you, and I am sooooo sorry! I tried, but my samples keep wandering away from me. :D I'll get one posted.... Anyways, remember that trapped space is when you have a layout with lots of great white space, but it's being chopped up into chunks. You have great white space above the title, and on the left of the picture. But, the title is cutting the white space into two chunks. Visually, it is hard for your viewer to move around the white space. I think you have two choices. You could make the title just a little smaller (maybe make it the same width as the focal picture) so that there is space between the left edge of the title and the curled paper edge/patterned paper. It would combine all of your great white space. The other thing you could do is move the curled paper edge, making the patterned paper piece smaller. Again, this would make some space between the curled paper/patterned paper, and the title.

What a fun layout, I love all the details that you have put into this, especially the ribbon and the use of the alpha for her name. So sweet, wonderful photo!
