Good Morning my Friend! How about making it a 2 pager and putting the 2nd photostrip with the granddaughter on the 2nd layout and adding some journaling on that layout? Then on this one I would in the background behind the 42 add a couple of baloons and sorta reduce the opacity to say 50%. I would then adjust the photos somewhat. HTH

Hey, Vaughnde! Thanks for your comments. Granddaughter indeed! I'm going to have to tell him about that mistake. That's our 6 yr old daughter. We had our kids late. ;-)

The main reason I'd like to keep this all on one page is that I'm cheap. I want to print the main pages for the year, sort of making a year book photo album for us, and I've already got well over 50 pages. The other reason is that I don't really have anything to say about this in terms of journalling. LOL! I think you're right, though. Perhaps if I make both photo strips smaller they wouldn't look so crammed in with the three main photos. I'd also kind of like those other papers to show from behind them, and that would solve that problem.

Hmm...thanks for getting me thinking!

I'd make it a two page, or take out some photos, also. I've heard the "grandmother" comment, also. I am 42. My kids are 7, 5, and 3.

This is a great page! I do have a suggestion. How about reducing the size of the filmstrips and placing them in the upper left corner at an angle. Then take the other three photos, reduce their size a little bit and stack them in the lower right corner. Maybe remove a couple of those papers to reduce the busyness. Then maybe take your title work namely the large number and place that vertically down the right side of the layout and take the words and place them towards the bottom left. Maybe eliminate the filmstrip that the title is in. Anyways, it's just a suggestion. I think it looks great now! Good luck!

Thanks so much for all your help! I have re-worked this using some of your great ideas and I think the finished product is a far cry better than what I started with. You can see the finished LO here: Victor's Birthday

hmmm... I think I actually prefer this layout. Because there isn't any journalling, the pictures are a huge part of the lo, so it makes sense to me to leave them big. Just my opinion though. :dancing_penguin:
