I spent way too much time on this, but it was fun! My DH is wondering why I'm still awake. Credits are in the details.

Here's the journaling (and yes, I know it's LONG!):


Once upon a time . . .

There was a princess (wearing the tiara on top of that ugly witch hat her stepmother made her wear), but she did not know
she was a princess. You see, her prince had not yet come. One day, while tending the garden, she met a frog.
But it was no ordinary frog. It had strange, red, heart-shaped lips. Who ever heard of a frog having lips, anyway?
As she pondered this strange discovery, her Moss-fairy godmother
appeared in a whirl of glittery dust that made her cough.

“Kiss it!” commanded the Moss-fairy.

“What?” croaked the princess (she was still choking on the Moss-fairy’s entrance dust).

“I said, ‘Kiss it!’ After all, since it has lips, it must be kissed!” the Moss-fairy asserted.

“Iiiiii don’t know ...” hesitated the princess, rather distressed at the prospect of kissing a frog.

Apparently, the Moss-fairy was not gifted with
patience, for with a “Hmpf!” it grabbed the frog
and said, “Fine! If you won’t - I will!”
And then, as the princess watched in astonishment,
came the biggest SMACK you ever heard.
Who smacked who first? We may never know,
but that frog disappeared as fast as hopping could
take him, and the Moss-fairy was left with
a red, webbed-foot mark on its face.

And they all lived happily . . .
umm . . . scratch that.

Hmmm. How could
a fairy tale go so awry?
Well,
I suppose that’s what happens
when you put it in the hands
of a girl sitting on a paint can
that’s oozing purple paint.
