Mark and his Dad
What I did on this LO that might be a little different was to make my own square brads from the chain provided in the kit. I just used the square selection tool and drew around the piece that I wanted. (With the bead layer highlighted) Then I hit "Control-J" to jump just that piece to it's own layer. I did that three times so I had three new square brads to move around as I wished.
I did the same thing to make the cracked leaf hanging off the side of the photo. I ctrl - clicked on the photo layer, then highlighted my leaf layer. with the leaf layer highlighter, I did Shift-control-J.(Thanks Christy VW!- great tutorial last month!) It cut my leaf then jumped one piece of it to a new layer. Then I nudged one side of it over slightly to make it looked cracked and off the edge of the photo.
Oh, the other thing I did was to make the damask pattern on the background paper just a wee bit darker. I didn't want the whole paper darker, just the pattern. So I used the magic wand(Thanks Charlene! Did you all know that not only is Charlene the boutique queen, but the magic wand fairy as well?) to highlight just the pattern, then went into the color adjustment section and hit darker one or two times.
TFL!
