OMG Patty Anne! That is a gorgeous layout and the song first gave me shivers and then made me cry. Absolutely beautiful.

Oh Patty Anne, you didn't tell me this story

What a moving song, and such a tribute to his mother...

tears...and hugs to both of you...

I'd love to hear this song one day..

Wow - what a moving layout!
First off, it's artistically fabulous.
Second, what a wonderful song, and a great tribute. I bet writing it helped your DH process the loss.
Third, they are learning more and more of the effects combat has on Soldiers.
I can almost certainly assure you that it did affect the person who pulled the trigger.
And don't forget, they had no support system that compares to our VA, as limited as it was at the time.
I hope this process is bringing some peace to your lives.
hugs, Gayle

What an outstanding layout featuring something so painful! I know this was a hard layout to do but you have made a work of art and a fine tribute to your Father In Law. Very nicely done.

Beautifully done, Patty Anne, and beautifully felt! Indeed this will become a family treasure. I too would love to hear your DH sing this song. Is it available? Wonderful photos!
