Mastering Brushes for Photoshop Elements

Lettering Delights Slender Font

Chronicles Collection

Journaling:

When Aunt Dawn got married, my mom and dad were pretty poor. They had only been married a little while themselves. Unable to buy a gift for her sister, mom spent hours copying recipes from grandma Eleanor’s recipe box. When my sisters and I got married, Aunt Dawn gave each of us a portion of those recipes. Although I don’t use many of them to actually cook with, it always makes me feel close to mom, every time I look through my recipe box. Her handwriting jumps out at me.

This layout is a sample from the class "Mastering Brushes in PSE." It is an example of creating brushes from memorabilia.

This is such a neat LO, Anna! And the story behind it is just precious. What a special gift your mother gave her sister. As I'm writing this, I'm hoping this is a real story and not like one of Valeries famous faux family LO's! I just noticed it's a sample for your class. :disappearing-smilie: Anyway.... I love the perspective thing you did here, too. Gotta learn how to do that.

LOL - this is a real story. The recipe box was a wedding gift from my aunt. My mom passed away when I was 11, so she wasn't around when I got married. Receiving the recipe cards from my aunt, in my mom's own handwritting, was one of my very favorite gifts ever.

Anna, this is really nice. Love the cards blended into the background. It looks a bit like a chalkboard. What a treasured gift you have...and now you can share that with others.

Oh Anna, this is beautiful, I bet you sure cherish those recipes. This is a great way to preserve them even longer, and to tell the whole story. Fantastic layout girly!

What a great layout! the story is fantastic, your recipe box is like your own little treasure box!! you should make brushes from your moms individual words, like 'cup', 'tablespoon', 'sugar' etc and use them when you make recipe pages for yourself!
