Xmas Card 2008

I have struggled to think of a card this year but when I saw Brandy's beautiful layout for her wonderful Holiday In Lights Collection I just knew I wanted to try to make a xmas card very like it.So this is more than just a scraplift but I couldn't resist it.However I didn't have a lovely "cozy" photo that Brandy had but I did have a lovely bird photo which my DH took a short time ago and which I wanted to use.He thinks the photo is wrong for a xmas card but I thought the red leaves connected well with the red ribbons. What do you think? Should I change the photo before I print out the card.

On the reverse I used a plaid paper from the collection and I intend to add an inner paper for the verse and tie it all together with a nice red ribbon finished with a bow.

Thanks Brandy for the inspiration.Your collection will be one of my firm favourites from now on.

So, please, what do you think.Should I try and find another photo?

CC always welcome

Supplies are in Details

Edit Ooops.I forgot to move the date over. Will do it later lol

Print it..it's lovely! I brought Jeroen over to my computer to look at it since he is very into bird photography. He said id was a very nice picture and that you must be from the UK. I didn't know so I went to your profile and he was right! All this from knowing birds. Let your DH know he got the thumbs up from The Netherlands on the photo and the card!

I think it's perfect!

Until you drew my attention to it, I thought it was a winter bird picture.

The red in the picture works perfectly with the background.

I think you have a terrific card - and the rest of the card as you've described it sounds perfect!

Floss, I think this is fabulously gorgeous, beautiful, fantastic card. I agree with you that the red leaves make it come together flawlessly. I also love what you plan for the back and inside as well. I'm very impressed.

I LOVE how you used the collection - wish I had thought of it! :D As Gayle said, I didn't notice the photo wasn't taken in winter until you pointed it out. The whole card is beautiful and I can't wait to see how you finish the back. Great job!!

This is a very pretty card. The colors are well matched. I would want to scraplift it. Perhaps the DH comment is regarding it not being family or religious. And that can only be decided between the two of you if you have captured the spirit of your Christmas.
