As I was taking notes during the sermon today, I thought I would make a prayer journal page to help me meditate on the verse further. I remembered this layout contest, too. This is sized 1/2 page to fit my 3 ring prayer journal binder.
My first thought was to scan one of my Bibles, but all of mine had the verses I wanted to highlight on the left facing page, and the placement wasn't real good. Then I thought I'd just type what I wanted. Then the thought came to my to copy and paste. The Bible lettering was created by copy and paste from the biblegateway.com site, the NIV translation. I find this site very valuable in my study and journaling. There are many translations to chose from and compare. I made two text box columns and justified the text, and rotated the text boxes. The font is "eggo" which looked a lot like the font in my Bible.
To get the notebook paper "under" the book, I selected the part of Brandy's paper with the edge of the book (first with a rectangle, then with the magic wand, then erasing) , copied it to a new layer, and brought that layer to the top. I erased the parts of the notebook paper that I didn't want. Finally, I added a drop shadow. I used my tablet to do the highlighting in yellow with a calligraphic brush, and set the blend mode to "color" to get it to look light highlighting.
The handwriting journaling font is FG Bonnie's font.
