Prepare Ye the Way of The Lord!
The Advent Season leading up to Christmas is an important part of our faith. It is a time for renewing, alms giving, praying, sharing, loving, forgiving, and helping others. In opening our hearts to the Lord, we try to do as many little things to help us focus on God’s gift of Jesus’ birth.
For every good deed our family members did during the Advent Season a piece of hay was place in the manger my husband made. This is a visual aid to help our young children focus on the true meaning of Christmas.

I love your LO, it truly celebrates Christmas.

Our church does the same thing, we have a manger set up at the beginning of Advent, at the start of the mass children bring straw to symbolize the good deeds or kindness they did during the week. Many children made a very soft bed for baby Jesus.
