This was fun. I'm not sure well I did, but I enjoyed making the grungy effects on the paper and the photo mask. So much stuff you can do with these brushes!

The days preceding and the day of your birth did not go exactly like we planned. September 5th, one week before your due date, we closed on our very first house. As Grandma, Daddy, and Uncle Danny moved our things in, I went in for a checkup. As usual, you were moving like crazy, and as had been usual for a month, my blood pressure was up. While they hooked me up to a fetal monitor you kicked me like crazy at the sound of your own heartbeat, but my blood pressure did not go down. Dr. Kot decided to put me in the hospital overnight to check for pre-eclampsia, which thankfully I didn't have. However, since I was less than a week away from your due date, they decided to keep me over the weekend and induce you on Monday morning. I waited, albiet a bit impatiently, as our relatives moved our things in and the hours until the big day slugged by. I wasn't worried, I felt I had done it before with Aly, it was no big deal. The hours went by, the epidural masking the pain, when suddenly the nurse rushed in in a scrub hat and slippers over her shoes. Your heartrate had been dropping dramatically with each contraction, and they were going to have to do a c-section. My biggest fear had come true; something was possibly wrong with you and I hadn't prepared myself for this eventuality. Unbeknownst to either of us, Mimi and I began to pray fervently for your welfare and for it not to come to a c-section. I don't know how much time passed, but I have never felt closer to God than at that moment. He gave me peace, and as I resigned myself to the Caesarean the on-call doctor checked me as a precaution. God had answered our prayers, because we were fully ready to go. You came out so beautiful, so tiny. Lorelei Rose Warren. Born September 8th, 2008, weighing eight pounds, two ounces at 20.5 inches long.
