I think you're off to a great start! This is a fun, vibrant LO and the colors and BG work well here. Your journaling is also an important part of scrapbooking. One thing you might consider if you're looking for CC is maybe using an extracted image as a single focal point. For example, you might keep the large extracted image you have here, but use small, regular photos in a photo strip or in small, bright frames instead of three more small extracted images. Does this make sense? And you can take this advice with a grain of salt, too -- the important thing is to scrap subjects and pages YOU like. Happy scrapping!

I think you are doing great! I think Jennifer had some good advice for you too. You seem to be getting the hang of the program just fine. I love the paper you used, it works perfectly with the pictures. That yellow hat is too cute!
