I’m really amazed these glasses have lasted as long as they have. A friend gave them to me about six years ago at Christmas. I would never have bought them myself because I’m a practical purchaser; I knew they wouldn’t last long in my house. I oogled the beautiful sets in the stores around the holidays and thought, “Maybe when the kids are older…” The wine glasses were a cherished gift, beautiful and delicate, and they symbolized that I am worthy of such items NOW, not later in my future. I didn’t even realize how much of a symbol they were until two were knocked off the counter and shattered. But they are just glasses, nothing more. Just things. And they can be replaced. I know I’m worthy of beautiful things now, I’d much rather use my everyday glasses though!
