Scrap Girls Digital Scrapbooking Forum: Viewing image Best Moment of 2008 - Scrap Girls Digital Scrapbooking Forum

There is no question that the best moment for me was to stand on the field at Lucas Oil Stadium with our high school marching band ('pit crew' parents stood with their bands). After many trips to state finals in the 90's, we had a long dry spell--6 years. In fact, the last time our band went to state finals was my oldest DD's freshman year. So I had been there before--in the stands as a newbie band parent. This trip was emotional for me for now my second child was a senior. He had been a 6th grade prop helper on our last trip so this was special for him. As drum major and a featured soloist, it was a highlight for him and a tearful event for this mom!! Anyway, I remember thinking as I stood on the field how neat a photo this would be. So I took the photo of the band in formation. My DH was in the stands and took the photo of all 10 bands standing at attention for awards. Words still cannot express the elation we all felt that day. And then we blew everyone away and placed fifth (we were expected to eke out a 9th place finish. haha.)
