Journaling reads:
Our generations have nothing to do with a tree,
not woven with branches,
not defined by blood,
but formed by heartstrings of love.
My “mom” did not give birth to me but has exceeded the label of mother beyond any imagination.
I may not have grown in her belly but came to her as an unruly teenager born in her heart, imagine the amount of indigestion that comes with that kind of birth.
I too am now a mother with beautiful children I did not give birth to. Motherhood started with our oldest daughter Halle who is now 3.I may not have felt the labor pains but I felt her birth, she was born in my heart. I still remember the sensation, like a burst of warm sunlight flowing from my chest, shining through my pores.
