The trees wept

I took this picture during the ice storm that devastated Kentucky last month. It is a very simple layout but it was such an incredible sight (in person at least) that I didn't want anything to take from the picture.

Journaling:

The trees wept

Or so it seemed. Of our 100+ trees on the property, a dozen or so were damaged by

the storm, at least four irreparably. The rest were bent over almost double from the

burden of ice they carried. I love trees and actually went out to talk to them, telling

them to be strong and come back. And, they did.

Cary, this is an amazing photo and I'm sorry you had to experience the devastation of the storm. Your layout is great in it's simplicity and your title is absolutely perfect. You can almost feel the weight of the ice. Really great layout!

You were right to focus on the strength of the one photo and the journaling to convey the idea of the ice storm. It does just take your breath away.

This LO is stunning beyond belief! Don't we feel like those trees at times...the weight of the world...especially these days! Incredible LO! The photo definitely stands alone!

Cary, what a stunning LO! The photo has such impact that you did it justice by keeping the LO simple. The background paper conveys the feeling, as does the title. Excellent job!

Your photo is stunning. Your layout focuses appropriately and effectively on the plight of the trees; it makes me want to weep along with them. I'm glad some of them have recovered. There's a reason many trees are deciduous - ice is one of them.

So sad to hear that some of you trees were destroyed. You'll be glad you have this LO to document the storm. We had a devastating ice strom about 32 years ago and I remember going out with a broom to try and beat some of the ice off our little trees so they could survive.
