I have to say a big "THANK YOU" to PBarnes and CheriT for their help with this layout! I wanted to record the story of my childhood misunderstanding in regard to our forsythia bushes, but I didn't have any pictures. Pat and Cheri generously offered to share theirs. :) Thank you so much, ladies! The background pic is from Cheri, and the smaller close-up is from Pat. I wanted to make the background look almost like it was painted, so I played with the filters in PS and came up with this.

The journaling on the tag reads:

Duration: Perennial

It’s so pretty every year!

Growth Habit: Shrub

One in front yard, one in the back.

Active Growth

Period: Spring and Summer

Summer’s coming! Summer’s coming!

Flower Color: Yellow

Cheery and bright!

Foliage Color: Green

Duh. Leaves are green.

Purpose: ?

Why, it’s for ME, of course! For Cynthia. It’s

named after me, because Mama & Daddy love me!

I love the painting filter you used. It makes a great background. The edging that you have on the photo is neat too because it repeats the blue from the sky in the background paper. Nicely done!

Too cute, Cynthia! I loved the story when you mentioned it in that thread. Great use of the photos and I like the way you did the journaling. Super job!

Oh, Cynthia, I just saw this and it is beautiful.....my childhood memories are of all of my Mom's Peonies and Azalaes all over the yard. I wish I had some pics of those too. You did a beautiful layout and I can tell you put a lot of work in to it. It is very pretty and must bring back some sweet memories for you.

Hugs
