Another one of "my" birds.

I need to get my feeders back out...the hummingbirds should be coming back soon.

I just love this photo. What a beautiful hummingbird. What a capture! What camera and lens do you use? I put out sugar water last summer among my flowers but didn't see a one! sad. Love your card and the verse is so beautiful. Great job!

Rosemary...thanks! I only dream of a "nice" camera. I longingly look over at them in the stores. I'm thinking that not this Christmas but next one, I will ask for one. Maybe my parents, brother, and husband will chip in together and all get that for me. (At least I'll suggest it to them all. lol)

That being said, it's "just" a Sony Cybershot DSC-H2 with the Carl Zeiss lens that came on it. I will sometimes sit in a chair on the patio as still as can be and just wait for the hummingbirds or other birds to come around. With my camera already in place resting on my knee that I've got pulled up. lol Other times I'll stand with the camera in place (up in front of my face) with a hand leaning against the wall/edge of window for steadiness (since my tripod broke) and wait. This shot was taken through the window...glass and all. lol

LOVE THIS! My yard had two hummingbirds yesterday hanging out on my butterfly bush. It was wonderful. I was standing beside the bush while they were enjoying the blooms and they did not seem to care. They just buzzed close by me to get to a flower and I just melted because I saw the entire body of the birds. It was so beautiful to be so close to them. Wonderful layout!

What a beautiful layout! I think you should frame it and hang this one on a wall - it is just an awesome picture of the bird and you did a great job with the layout. Love it....

Charlene, I have so enjoyed looking at this series of cards. Your photos are amazing, and I loved reading how you work for them. The verses and embellishments really take them over the top -- just gorgeous! Beautiful work!

I love your hummer. I brought my geraniums in last winter before all the freezing weather and lo and behold, they're blooming. Our hummers have discovered those bright red flowers ... I swear one of these days they're going to fly right into the house when I have the door open. :)

I just love your photo, card & verse. I was just telling my husband today we needed to get the hummingbird feeders out. Your picture reminds of something special that happen to me. Hummingbirds are so amazing.....we had a bird go down and the poor thing was just sitting on the driveway. My husband picked it up and I knew we needed to act fast to save it's life. I remembered a story I read in our local newspaper (years ago) about a lady that rescued hummingbirds and I tracked her down making a few calls. She told us to put the bird in a shoe box with a soft towel and we were out the door driving to her home. What we saw when we walked into her unbelievable rescue operation was a site to behold...I will never forget it and when I see hummingbirds I think how God is also Amazing in his design. In her kitchen was the newborns and she had to feed them every 20 minutes with special food she mixed up. Off the livingroom was the hummingbird aviary for birds that were on the mend and in her back room she had hummingbirds that were just about to be returned out. She has to take the newborns with her when she goes out so she can feed them. I'v seen her out a few times and she always has her special cargo in a covered basket. What an astonishing woman dedicating her every minute to the amazing hummingbirds.

Wow...I bet her house was a site to behold. So...what state is this in? lol Probably too far away for me to check out.

I just LOVE watching the birds. I have two seed feeders outside my kitchen/eating area window. About 8 feet away. Plus some bird baths. And the nectar feeders are out now. I haven't seen any hummingbirds yet this year. I hear they are in the area though. Anyone who comes over (usually just family) is always in awe to sit at the table eating dinner and see the bird show out the window.

It was a Wow!!!.....I live in Southern California (born and raised). When my husband and I started our lives together (almost 36 years ago) we lived in a little kitchenet and outside the little kitchen window we could sit and watch hummingbirds enjoying the flower garden the landlord had planted.....so I understand your family and friends enjoying the bird show....who doesn't love dinner and show! Our flower garden is at the back of our house so I have an excuse to sit outside and do nothing! :yippee:

I was glancing through the Blessings Gallery and saw all your LOs here. These are beautiful--they should be on a calendar in a boutique somewhere!! Absolutely lovely.
