Drive to Perth

This is the start of our trip to Perth. The journalling says "There was no need for us to rush to Kalgoorlie this time around because we weren’t doing a day trip. But we are all so used to being up early for school and work that we were all up early anyway. We left as soon as we were all ready to go.
When we got to Kalgoorlie we dropped our car off to get new front tyres fitted and went to the park. The kids had a great time playing around and using up a bit of energy. They had been in the car for four hours in the drive from Laverton so the playground was the perfect place to stretch their legs out again. We did lots of shopping and managed to clear most things off our shopping list.
The drive to Perth took around seven hours. We had to leave at around 4.00am to be there in time for Emily’s dental appointment. The kids got quite bored along the way. Their Nintendos and books kept them busy for a large portion of the drive.
At one point in our drive Emily suddenly said “Look, Australia...” Andre and I were both just about to say “We’ve been in Australia for a while” when she decided to finish her sentance “...flag” She had left such a big pause it sounded as though she was surprised to find herself in Australia - even though we’ve been in Australia for over a year now."
