Day 17 Family

Most often, for family challenges I do something with my sons and their families, but this time I did it with my cousins Cheryl and Martha. Cheryl and I just about grew up together and Martha just loves us to pieces. Martha is getting up in years now, 92 or 93, and I don't know if we'll be able to all three of us be together again. Last year Cheryl and I went to PA to visit and had a wonderful time. We couldn't stay long and one of the things we did was to make sure we got as much information on our family as we could from Martha. We had each taken some of the old photos and she went over them with us and told us a lot we had never known. I took notes and it was a really great visit. Cousins are a special place in the family tree.

What a good idea to use cousins as a different view of family connections We we close to a few cousins growing up and it seems that so many families today lose that connection as families move more often. How great to have such a tight relationship. It sounds like you have a treasure from the pictures and the conversations. Your layout is very pretty and the pictures of everyone seem to capture a twinkle and a connection. You look like you are all so comforable together.

I do love having cousins! I did not live close to any of mine when I was growing up but still am thankful to have them (all 25 of them). Your layout and memories are precious!

What a great idea for Day 17 Family. You just gave me some inspiration for my Day 17. I love your layout and the cluster that you used for the three photos. Great layout and thanks for sharing your story with us.

Sandi - what a wonderful tribute to your cousins. You are blessed to know and have a close relationship with them. My cousins were all in Germany so I grew up without knowing what a cousin was.
