Task #8: Memorial Walk

Task #8: Memorial Walk

I hadnít realized how much I missed going with Mom to the cemeteries around Memorial Day until about two years ago. This year we finally had the opportunity to go with her to retrieve the flowers she leaves on all our ancestorís gravestones. Michael and William of course were oblivious to any meaning behind our serene walk. Christopher, however, embraced this ďremembering holidayĒ (as opposed to the kind where you receive presents) and said to mom we should also remember people like George Washington and Jesus in addition to our ancestors. After I told him about looking for the particularly old stones as a child, he then wanted to look for them with me.

Wonderful journaling, a I like your color choices.
Cheri, I like the subtle serene mood you've created with your choice of colors and embellies you used. I also like how your framed some photos and didn't frame others.
This is really a beautiful spread. I like how the brown frame and paper on opposite page connect. The pictures of the boys with the flowers are so sweet! What a great day to spend remembering - It is good for the soul!
Beautiful layout and I love your journaling - a wonderful memory for two generations
Your craftsmenship is excellent, but what I really love the most is your subject matter. Sometimes we stay away from uncomfortable topics...how refreshing to see your LO.
Beautiful layout and I love the story behind it. Thank you for sharing with us.
