Stitches in Action

There was considerable interest in the topic of creating realistic stitches in repsonse to a question I (and several others) posted so I decided to make a layout and share my attempts at "stitching" on paper. For the comparison, the top card is the original LO using the Basic Stitching dynamic brush and the bottom card shows the same stitching with the actions applied. After the actions were applied I could go into the adjustment menu to make changes until I liked the way the stitches looked ... depending on which of the styles I used (each comes with 4-6 options) I could adjust the opacity, color, glow, bevel, and shadow. Sometimes there was a stroke that could be adjusted, too.

Journaling just tells about my interest in creating realistic stitches and the two actions I used to get my stitches to look more realistic: CBA Stitching and Holes 4101 (the bottom line of stitching) and MST Stitch 1801 for the stitching on the side of the card.

I also had fun using Valerie's new Jelly 2101 style on the embellies/cluster. My cluster was already merged so my flower couldn't by "jellyized" but that was okay ... things were going really great until I accidently "spilled water" and "set my coffee cup on the whole LO" adding to the staining.

I had fun with this LO and I hope this might help some of you in trying to decide what to do about adding stitches to your LOs.

Your attempt to explain the different stitching options was most helpful and so beautifully presented. I have a number of Scrapgirls stitching products collected over the years and I simply have not used them because I was confused. I'll dust off the cobwebs and start experimenting now. Thank you.

Kay this is Fantastic! You are an inspiration with the stitching effects!! It falls into your quilting love just perfectly and I love the bright colors as well as the staining and jellied embellishments!
