Independence Day 2
At the experimental aircraft fly in they brought down a B-29 Bomber engine for display. Even had it running. This engine is the #4 engine off of "DOC" which is one of only 2 bombers being restored to actually fly. There were nine in this squadron at one time and the other seven are on static display around the U.S. One of the person's in charge of this squadron saw the musical Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and went to Walt Disney and asked if they could use Snow White, the Seven Dwarfs and the Wicked Witch as the names of the planes in their squadron and he okayed it. That is how this plane happened to get the name "DOC". At one time that squadron heloped set up the radar air defenses around the United States. We found out they are restoring the wings in our hometown and nobody even really knows that. (Our hometown is small, 20,000 people and I think that counts some of the dogs) The thing I tried to impress on my kids was that during World War II Boeing in Wichita was putting out up to 4 of these huge Bombers a day and most of the work was done by "WOMEN". I think that says a lot about the support and dedication of the the women back home to help their guys overseas. Thanks to all the MEN and Women who serve and have served in the Armed Forces and in support of them. To you we owe the freedoms we have.
