Salvaging a Photo

I had a question about this with the LAYOUT of this photo, so I thought I would show you guys what I did in just a few simple steps to make the photo into something that I could use :)

1. First you can see that it was getting very dark. The photo that grandpa took had a horrible blue cast to it.

2. I tweaked it in Photoshop. I saw a tutorial on how to remove a red cast and thought I would try the same steps with a blue cast and it worked! I used Filter Average and curves. PM me if you want the step by step on how I removed the color cast.

3. The photo still had an odd cast to it so I ran MRE PhotoBasics Action in Chocolate with color

4. I added the final touch with SNU Photo Edges style. You can see that it darkened the body of of the photo a bit and added a fantastic edge.

Isn't it amazing what we can do with a photo that seems to be a mess! Now it is a treasure!

I LOVE this! You should print this out to use with your actual photo for the album for future generations to learn something or for a future class to teach :)
