You were so funny on your birthday! You had been so excited all morning, running around, talking about your party, but when we actually got there, you just wanted to sit and scowl at everyone. You refused to smile while everyone sang “Happy Birthday”, and you refused to blow out the candles. But your smile came out when I gave you a cupcake and a plate of ice cream. I think it was all just a little too overwhelming for you.
