Puberty Stinks!

When this happened I grabbed my camera and Matthew, on the floor, said, "Don't you dare scrap this!!!" I laughed and said, "I already have the title: Puberty Stinks!" My daughter (who was helping her Dad hold her brother down) laughed so hard she fell over backward, then high fived me. It was a rather crazy afternoon.

I love the red background paper from Angie's Day to Day Life, but the white dots made it just a little too busy to see the title well. So I decided to try to darken them. With the magic wand tool & "contiguous" NOT checked, I highlighted the dots, then played with the "hue/saturation" settings to get the dots to still show, but just not so brightly. Because of the shading around the edge of the paper the dots around the edge weren't highlighted, but I decided I liked them white so left them alone.

I loved the brad from Angie's Scenic Route, but it was quite faded and I wanted the word "SOAP" to stand out more. I was able to do this just by playing with the hue/saturation settings. I love the versatility of digi!

Supplies:

papers - BMU From The Desk Of; ABR Day to Day Life

frames - TKA Photo Folds 4

word art - TCS Naturescape; BHA Abstract Expressionism

journal paper - BHA Abstract Expressionism

arrow - COL Directional Arrows

clothes pins - KSC Beaute Botanique

brad with word art - ABR Scenic Route

alphas - AMC Jake & Emma

fonts - Jenkins; Sunday Komix

deodorant - from the Old Spice web site. I didn't think they'd mind as I'm sort of promoting its use! LOL!

Journaling:

"At 13 Matthew disliked the shower. He also loathed wearing deodorant, much to the dismay of our noses. The grosser the better, was his opinion, as this would keep the girls away. He was frequently being instructed to shower, wash with soap, wash his hair, and USE DEODORANT!

One Sunday afternoon, when we couldn't take the smell any longer, we decided it was time for action. Victoria helped hold him down while Dad forcibly applied the Old Spice. He may not like it, but now we can breathe, even when Matthew walks by!"
