CrystalPearl the Beautiful Mermaid

My 11 year-old granddaughter is writing a story about Blue Moon the Princess Fairy and the mermaids.

I made a scrapbook page for her this summer with her as Blue Moon using Kerry Vale's KVE_BellaFiore collection. It turned out so cute that my granddaughter wanted me to make her cousin into a mermaid named CrystalPearl. She stated emphatically that CrystalPearl is one word and that I could not make it into two words. LOL

I searched the Boutique and found the Mermaids and Pirates collection -- it was perfect! And so was the Assemble Your Own Mermaid and Pirate Storybook Figures. It had the mermaid tail I needed.

We needed a modest mermaid, so I chose a picture of my granddaughter in a cute outfit that would go with the mermaid tail. She hasn't seen it yet, but I think she will like it. She loves the color purple, so I had to re-color several items in the layout. I also needed a crystal which I found in the Jake and Emma Collection. I needed something that looked like a pearl which I found in Sydnee Nuckles By the Sea. So I was all set to have fun and get hugs from the grandkids when they see the layout.

The straight text wasn't working, so I used the lesson in Ro's Paint Shop Pro Secrets Revealed to do the text on a curve. Ro did a great job teaching me how to do it (as well as a lot of other "secrets"!

The Jake and Emma collection is so much fun. I remembered it had some beads and I found the perfect one there that I could use for a Crystal and a paper in the collection made a good border so I could put the line of shells on it and hang the mermaid over the edge of the layout.

I have always loved Sydnee Nuckle's By the Sea Collection. I was glad she put something in there that looked sort of like it was pearl.

I wasn't sure how to make my granddaughter look more like she was floating, but actually she is pretty nervous and is stiff when she floats in the pool, so it may be more realistic than I thought. GRIN
