We had a beautiful view from our hotel in Cape May, NJ this month, and I often saw a lone beach walker near sunrise and sunset. I had this pretty photo of my husband walking on the beach in Sea Isle City, NJ in 2007, and wanted to try Brandy Murry's shutters from her beautiful "The View Collection" in a LO, so decided to combine the 2007 photo with my memories from the 2009 trip.

I am trying to use new (for me) techniques in each LO, so this time added a gradient layer to "match" the sky in the Sea Isle scene, which had the shades of blue and lavender you sometimes are fortunate to see before sunset. I used several layers with different blending techniques to get an effect I liked on the shutters, on which I changed the skew and perspective, also new for me and also fun! I tried brush, eraser and clone brush techniques with Diane Miller's Edgy_Brush_eraser which were a lot of fun, and exaggerated drop shadows on Brandy Murry's View_WordArt_Outside bird. I used the polygonal tool to select just the bird from the word art to place on it's own layer so that I could apply the bigger shadow to just the bird. This was also new to me and I was happy that it worked. Then Erica Hite's EHI_SS_Tools_Styles_PunchOut5401-1 gave the words just the "pop" that I thought they needed and which I wasn't getting on my own.

I love this digital scrapbooking and all the great products and encouragement I find here at Scrap Girls!

Products I enjoyed using are listed here and also in the EXIF Properties.

Oooooooo I love the colors you matched with the sky for your bg. Beautiful photo and love the shutters and how you used them. Great job on your shadows too. Gorgeous!
