So, James was listening to a talk radio station one summer for the sole benefit of winning some of the great stuff they were constantly giving away...and several times he won $100 cash. Then, the trip to Hawaii was announced. Unfortunately, he had already won a prize during that month so he was ineligible. But that didn’t stop him from gathering all the clues each day with the intent of having me call in. So, Monday I call in from home...never even got through. Tuesday, he has me go down to work with him to use his work phone, which magically gets through repeatedly. I was caller 2, 6 and yay...lucky number 9! So, I give them all the correct clues, and then they ask for my phone number so they can call me back to get my information. I gave them my HOME phone number and hung up. However, I was still at James work!! Missed that qualification. The next day I was caller 4 and 8 and didn’t get to qualify. Thursday, the final day to qualify, we again go down to James office and although it has NEVER happened before, the phone lines are down! WHAT!! We frantically start asking around to borrow anyone’s cell phone and amazingly, I got in as caller number 9!! I gave them the correct clues, the borrowed cell phone number for the return call...and miracle of miracles, I qualified as a finalist! The next day, Friday, the four finalists called in at a designated time, they spoke to each of us briefly and then drew my name out of the hat! We actually won!
Little Braxton stayed home with Grandma so that James and I were able to go on our awesome, free vacation!
