My mom made these every year when we were growing up (and still does). They are our Christmas morning breakfast served with eggs and bacon and pink grapefruit. Mmmmmm. I make them every year also. My DH and kids like them with an apple filling (I can share that if someone wants it), but I still prefer the Cranberry filling. They look tricky but they're not...and they are so delicious.
