My husband's Grandfather as a baker who immigrated to the US from Germany. His children and Grandchidren always looked forward to seeing the gingerbread houses that he made for each Grandchild. They were thrilled to see the house with their name piped in frosting above the doorway. We aren't professional bakers, so we make our houses from Graham Crackers, frosting and candy. It is still fun for everyone and a wonderful tradition to keep alive.
