December 09 Family Traditions...Macy's 8th floor

Christmas Eve morning is when our family celebrates a tradition we’ve had since our kids were little. After breakfast we drive (or now we have the option to take the light rail) up to Macy’s (still Dayton’s to me) and go up to their 8th floor where there is an animated display, which is new almost every year. This year the theme is: A Day in the Life of an Elf. We saw elves working hard to get ready for Christmas as well as singing Christmas trees.

 

(this year for the first time it's a repeat of last years, maybe due to the economy.... I'm not sure, but we will be going again tomorrow weather permitting.... it wouldn't be the first time we went during a blizzard...and the best part is, no one else is there if it's bad outside :lol:

Goodness Rosemary what a lot to look at in this LO!! Love your tree in the background. It looks like a display not to miss. I think it looks like a awesome display and I'm sure you will see things second time round that maybe you never saw first time round. Enjoy your tradition tomorrow!!! :disappearing-smilie:

Another just gorgeous layout Rosemary - love your tradition and hope the blizzard doesn't keep you from that same tradition this year - I love all the pics and the arrangement of them - beautiful work as usual.

Beautiful layout Rosemary. I love the arrangement of the multiple photos and the color scheme. What a neat tradition. The large department store "downtown" when I was growing up had a special Christmas floor. I don't think they had animated figures but I remember how special it was to go see the display and to visit Santa. What a wonderful memory for you family.

This is lovely Rosemary. I like the clustering you have done with the photos and the softness that the snowflakes give to the LO. Very magical!
