Task #14 Family

Sarah Schantz

Task #14 Family

For this task, I chose to scraplift jhbren's Crisp_Jeffries Family Roots. To make it "mine" I did not use the roots on the word Family, and I added some brushwork.

I've been looking for a way to scrap this family photo for a long time and have now found one that pleases me. This is a photo of Christmas Day, taken in 1947, of my grandparents, three of their children and spouses, fourteen grandchildren and spouses, and one great grandchild. My parents are not in the photo. My father's sister was very ill that year and they were with her. I'm sitting on my grandfather's lap holding my brand new doll, and looking very much like I missed my Mommy!

    Cool layout! Karen
love this old photo and you did a great job with the lo and the lift
You look very cute. LOL Great work here, love b&w pics - you made this look really elegant!
This is a good photo to have Sarah. Really like the way you have used all the framing. Do you still have that doll?
What an amazing photo, Sarah! I love how you have chosen to display it. The layout is just pleasing to my eye and the photo is truly the focal point. You really should journal about it as I loved reading the story behind the photo ... maybe on an adjoining page and make it a double page layout (lol ... adding to your to do list). It's just that it is such a special photo with you and your doll and your family. I really need to start scrapping all of the old family photos.
Nice Scraplift Sarah. I always love to see LO's with older photos.
Sarah, this is fantastic! I love old photos. I 110% agree with Kimmy; the story behind the photo needs to be with the layout. It is such a sweet story and should be documented for the generations to come :) Thanks for sharing!
Agreed on the journaling:) This looks wonderful! Love the framing effect and the title is perfect.
Beautiful page, I like the simplicty and sophistication of it.
What a great momento to have.
