I didn't see where to post my info - so until I figure that out -

Shut in TV Mode with 1/250 shutter, F/5.6, ISO 400 at 250 MM, manual focus set to center spot. King of a dreary day, I did a levels adjustment and sharpening in CS4.

I think I was suppose to put Week 4 Challenge at top, I am not sure how to correct this??? :hit-head-with-hammer:

I was wondering if you had moved slightly to the right, then your feeder might have been a little more off center and the telephone pole in the background might have been hidden by the tree. Although if you had done that, you might not have captured the other fella and that would have been too bad; I like the fact that having him in the photo tells more of a story. Good job!

You can go back in and edit your photo and info by choosing Mod Options under image details then choosing Edit Image.

Thanks for the comments and helpful edit tip! It worked. Will work more on the off centering, I do see what you mean - THANKS!

Great choice of subjects for the challenge. It would have been good if you could have avoided the telephone pole, but not worth sacrificing the shot of the second squirrel.

The way you've framed your subject naturally is great. Having those trees either side of your bird feeder is great. When you go out there again it would be interesting to see if you can keep the natural frame, yet not get the telephone pole in the photo. I also like how the branches are coming down from the tree - adds to that natural frame you have going on. It's a great photo and the extra squirrel is definitely a bonus ...

So I went out and looked at my bird house from different angles and you are right, I probably could have used a different angle and missed the pole, but maybe still captured the 2nd squirrel. Now I will make it a point to look at the background, as well as the subject, before shooting! THANKS!

What a great site to capture :) I agree it would have more impact if you had the feeded off centre but then you might have missed the second squirrel. This is where photoshop comes in handy so you can remove the pole :)

Robin,

This is a great photo - and like Carole, I like the natural frame the two trees on either side make. And what a nice feeder/house you have. Really adds nice color to an otherwise drab day. Yes, the telephone pole is in the background; and I guess you could have taken the photo from the other side (with the telephone pole at your back) but I have no idea of what your background would have been then. In the future, maybe you should consider calling the phone company and having them come out and put their darn pole in a less conspicious place! ;-)

Actually I work for the phone company! LOL - but it's an electrical pole, so it doesn't help that I work for the phone company....

The flip side is my house and the road :-(
