journaling -

Jan 25th I had to have oral surgery. Bryan was TDY & Mom had just had surgery on 3 of her toes so Dad & Kathy came down to watch over me & the kids. They had to leave Tues afternoon & I put on a brave face, but an hour after they left, in pain & lost in a Vicodin fog, I called Mom & sheepishly asked if she could come down. Of course I knew she couldn't, but I felt awful & was concerned that I was not in any condition to care for 4 kids. I apologized for asking because I knew it was upsetting to her that she couldn't afford to come. I called Bry in Dover & he called everyone he knew, even co-workers I didn't know! Finally Bryan told Caeleb that he'd have to take care of me & help with the other 3 kids. He was sitting next to me on the couch babysitting me (bless his heart)when he suddenly looked up at the front door & yelled "It's Grammy!" Just then Mom burst through the door with a big smile, dinner for the kids, & her suitcase! Mom to the rescue! I was overcome with a sense of relief & cried "Oh, thank you!" The minute she told Duane what was going on he said "You'd better hurry." Now that's a mother's love!

Yup, I still need my mom & dad sometimes! :) TFL

What a great photo & a wonderful story. Congratulations on your helpful son, too.

I love the stripes & the brushwork swirls & sparkles. The go so nicely with your photo.
