2/6 - African Violet

This violet is taking over my desk. It started when I stuck a broken leaf into a pot with a dying begonia. I thought the begonia had come back, the leaves were so shiny. Then it flowered and showed an African Violet. The man who brought in all the original violets has retired so I had to go looking for the story behind this - I only remembered the bit about outer space. When I found the article on azcentra.com, I really loved the title.

The layout is scraplifted from Kerry Veale's lovely heritage Audreylayout.

I used:

KVE_Violetta_Emb_Frm_Sqr (I made 4 copies & merged them, it was too thick to just enlarge)

KVE_EmbossedVellum_Paper_Foliage

Wow Aggie! I've never seen a violet that gorgeous before! Incredible! Great layout about it! And what an amazing plant! Sounds like something I might even be able to keep alive! LOL!

Your colors came out gorgeous! I like the history of your plant- kind of like Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors- just kidding- but don't sit too close just in case!

Beautiful LO! The magnified photo is wonderful and having the plant by the phone, an item that everyone knows the size of and nicer than a ruler, is a great idea. I wish I could accidently break a leaf off that plant. lol :-)

That's cool Aggie, love your photos and the explanation about the Space Violet.... Very cool, and I love the colors you used. Very pretty with that pop of green from your photo too.

Amazing story/journaling and it's a good one to remember! Love the colors in this layout, both the gorgeous bright colors of your photos and the soft colors you have chosen to complement them. The frame looks really great, too!
