Singing Skies

This started out to be another response to the cloud challenge from March 18, but it evolved into something else, although the clouds are still featured. I turned them into kaleidoscopes, using techniques learned in Jene Parks wonderful class. The general layout was inspired by Elisha Barnett's layout in Friday's newsletter

Water's Edge. I loved the way she created a reflection of her scene, and the sparkle she added to the water. The reflection was already included in my DH's photo, but I did add some sparkles, extending them into the lower background. The journaling is one verse and chorus from John Denver's "Singing Skies"; it pops into my head every time I use my Dancing Waters bath gel. :P

WOW! You started with an amazing photo and made it into an amazing layout! Love everything about it. The kaleidoscopes command a sense of wonder and awe. And the twinkling sparkles are heavenly. I love these lyrics - and they and this layout bring to mind lyrics of an old hymn:

Let that grace now like a fetter

Bind my wandering heart to Thee:

Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it;

Prone to leave the God I love.

Here’s my heart, oh, take and seal it,

Seal it for Thy courts above.

(Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing, Robert Robinson)

Your layout give a little glimpse of those courts above - though we may wander - here and now.

This is totally gorgeous!!!!!!! There is so much to love about this LO. The photo and the reflection, novel way of doing kaleidoscopes, your song choice and to finish it all off with a perfect touch of sparkle! Just really lovely.

I agree with Ngaire. There is so much about your layout. I especially love the lyrics. They moved me so that now I need to go find that song on itunes and download it. Karen
