Fun challenge. Here's the dress I made for Maeve which she wore on her Christening Day...perfect fit since the sleeves were adjustable with a satin ribbon. It's made of Swiss Batiste (very wrinkly, but gorgeous,) French laces, Swiss embroidered insertions and Swiss entredeux. I didn't keep track of how many hours it took to sew, but it was fun (other than the white thread on white fabric blindness.) I didn't get a picture of the matching bonnet, nor the crystal cross necklace...what was I thinking? Oh, I know- she was anxious to get out of the frills! You never saw a baby get dressed and undressed so fast as her Mommy and I dressed and undressed her!
Journaling: December 4, 2011, you were baptized Maeve Loren at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Church. Here you are in a picture with your Godmother, Farrah, wearing the Swiss Batiste Christening gown made by your Grandmother Dorothy. You wore a matching handmade bonnet and a tiny Swarovski Crystal cross given to you by your Grandmom, and you were beautiful.
