    I DID IT.  Just bit the bullet and ordered an 8TB EHD for my "master back up".  Thank you Amazon Prime-it will be here this weekend.  Hope to get it all set up over the holiday!  (because I'm lame like that and have no other plans)

      Ahh ok. Do you use a Mac or a pc? I need to look into Apple's Time Machine. I think it works like that.

      It's called Time Capsule. You can use it as a router as well, or just as a wireless hard drive. It's all in the settings. 4399 for a 3T. I am thinking I need this.
