  1. I lived in the suburbs and we took the brunt of the storm and were also in the oil spill area. Whatever the flood water didn't damage the crude oil finished off. I had 1 house note left, but we relocated an hour north because there was no way I could ever feel safe knowing everything had been saturated in oil for weeks. We were blessed to only receive damage to our homes with no loss of life.
  2. He looks so proud of his 8 cake. I love that your page matches his shirt. The watercolor hearts work so well here. Great page!
  3. Tracy, I didn't see any of this and goofed it up. My brain is fried. Anyway, I posted my SCHOOL layout. HERE
  4. JOURNALING: In grammar school the nuns were very strict and ran a tight ship. I enjoyed school and my elementary school classmates have kept in touch over the years with a reunion every couple of years. Also, my “longest friend” (I refuse to say oldest) always throws a big theme party for milestone birthdays. The party last year was a 70s theme to celebrate all our 70th birthdays. We had to dress the part. I thought my bell bottom days were over. But I found a pair of bell bottoms on a clearance rack that fit like they were made for me. It was a really fun party! My mother-in-law was a teacher at my school. Every day she came to school with my husband and his brothers in tow. Hubby was a grade ahead of me and I often saw him coming and going but never actually met him. High School opened up a whole new world of experiences. I participated in school clubs, performed in halftime shows at Friday Night football games, and marched in Mardi Gras parades. I worked after school and during the summer in a snowball stand that one of my teachers owned. I loved all the activity. Near the end of my Junior year, I met my husband on a blind date. That was the best summer of my life! For 3 years we triple dated with 2 of his friends and their girlfriends. Now we go to lunch once a month with these same 2 couples. The rich history we share is awesome. I have been blessed to have had many long-term treasured friendships that still bring me joy today. These are the only school photos I have because I lost the rest of them in Hurricane Katrina. Top Photo_2nd grade_First Holy Communion, 2nd Photo_ Sr. Prom, 3rd Photo_Graduation

    Baby Six Months

This is adorable. I love the polka dots and how you matted each photo differently. The embellishments with each photo work so nicely. This is a great idea to use for multiple photos that are almost the same. We babysit my 1-year-old great nephew and have a dozen of these photos. I am gonna snatch this idea.

    Our Easter Basket

Sue, I am so happy for you! This is a beautiful tribute to celebrate Talita's first holiday together with the family. The bright, cheery yellow color scheme is the perfect background. She is truly your miracle baby. Much happiness to you and your beautiful family!!
  7. This is beautifully done and a wonderful tribute page!

    Wind

Love this. It is an appropriate message for all the hassles we have been going through this week trying to find a new place.

    Michelle late 1990's

This is a great picture. I like the fragmented look. The colorful paper is the perfect background for the page.
  10. Oh, he is so stinkin' cute with the dog! I love the blended plaid background, the scribbles and the word art. Yes, everything is better when we stick together.
  11. Aww, I love that little squat when he is watering. And that proud little smile says it all. This is the cutest layout. I love the embellishments and papers you used.

    Book-of-Me

This is reminiscent of much simpler times. I am glad that we were a part of a generation where life moved along at a slower pace. As I look at your vintage pictures and read your wonderful story, I keep thinking "Those were the days". Those chairs are perfect for this page. They bring me back to my own childhood where my aunt had those in her yard.
  13. What was so amazing was that it didn't take long for the birds to get comfortable with us and not feel intimidated. The picture of mama bird sitting on her nest was taken at the opening of the birdhouse. The red birds with their mouths open were in a nest in my Lady Banks roses right next to my side door. Every time we went in the door, they thought they were getting fed. I wish you could hear them squeaking on the video that goes with that picture. We spent a whole day watching mama bird give baby birdies flying lessons. All 4 baby birds flew the coop that day and we really missed them. About 10 days later we had another new nest.
