It was called the Zues (sp) trojan and acted as if the info came from Microsoft and Verizon. I knew they would not be warning me, but it gave a phone number and name. I debated, but the pc was locked so I called the number. I think Hudson had been on youtube, but he knows little about pcs and will click on things.

It really didn't take much to clear it once the man got my message of "no credit card." I have a small free program  that gets rid of junk files. I used that, then decided to restore, just in case. It worked. Really I could work around the locked page on my screen.

I wonder if there is an agency or fraud number you can give the information to, or if it would do any good.

I'm always careful these days and I don't click on anything. I never give out my credit card number. I would give the company they say they are from a call and let them know what is going on and if it's an email,send it to the company. I have 'Norton' and 'Winzip' protection and one other one that I forget the name of. You can't be too careful these days. I always get emails from banks that tell me my account has been hacked and I don't even have an account with them. These people don't have anything better to do than try to steal information from you. Creeps!

Glad you got it fixed. I don't understand why people can't use their time more productively!
