  22. Her journaling (her husband should get an award for this!): The romantic in me has always dreamed of taking a cruise, but every time I would bring it up to Tom, he said that he didn’t think he could be on a boat for that length of time. Tom is an outdoors-man and thought a ship would be too confining. Well, the surprise of my life came when this wonderful husband booked a cruise on the Royal Caribbean “Serenade of the Seas” in celebration of our 25th wedding anniversary. We boarded our ship in San Juan, Puerto Rico on March 17, 2007, and headed for 3 beautiful islands – St Thomas, St John’s Antigua, and St Maarten. We could not have asked for more perfect weather as the skies were as blue as sapphires and the ocean reflected that hue. Everyday was a new adventure, and every return to our cabin we were greeted by some little critter made of towels sitting on our bed. Our every need seemed to be taken care of and I truly felt like a princess! On March 20th, the actual evening of our anniversary, we had a wonderful dinner, followed by a stroll around the deck as we gazed at the beautiful starry sky. We reminisced about our wedding day and life events we have shared as best friends for the past 25 years. When we returned to our cabin Tom said he had a surprise for me. We got comfy on the couch and he opened his laptop and started a PowerPoint that he had been working on for months. He had found and scanned pictures of me from baby all the way to present and used two romantic songs – “You Are So Beautiful” and “You’ll Be In My Heart” - which brought tears to my eyes as you can imagine. It was the most romantic thing he has ever done and he single handedly captured my heart all over again!
