This is the other page I did. I think I like it better...but I can't tell tonight for sure. Same exact text as the other one. Any thoughts, ideas, or suggestions?
  3. From the album: Family

Need help here. This the first of two. Did this one, but didn't quite like it. Can't tell exactly why, my best explanation is that it is too formulaic. Opinions, please? Text reads: 26 March 1998 I was so frustrated. He brought me home and everyone who hadn’t seen him in years asked if I was his wife. “Not yet!” What?!?! Did I miss something? And what should I say then? His Mom said I should call her “Mom” like all of his friends did. If we were less intimate it would have been fine or if there was a proclaimed relationship, it would have been f ine...but for the time being I just couldn’t. All I knew was that I really wanted more than we had and in spite of being part of the wedding, he was very attentive to me. Little did I realize his intentions were far grander. So when he dragged me away as they were opening the last gift I was a little surprised. But then he stopped suddenly and dropped to his knees and shouted, “Anne Marie LoForte, will you marry me?” Every female in the room squealed as his mom climbed over several folks to get to us first. All the fathers beamed as if was their doing, while they snapped away with cameras. I answered him before he’d even finished the question and then we bonked heads because I leaned down to kiss him as he came up to kiss me...the rest of the evening is little more than a hazy happiness.
  4. So it's not a very exciting title...but it was fun. Is there too much pink, though?
  5. Today is PE day, and my middle child just got dressed in his exercise clotehs and running shoes and is running laps through the house!

What? That only happens on PE day in your house? I thought kids only came with one mode...run. ;-)

  6. What a fun way to remember. The soft colors add to the "remembering" feel.
  7. What a fun way to keep those memories of random things that hit you as you are passing. Good quote for it. I always have a hard time putting my thoughts into succinct words...you did very well here!
  8. So I may be a little behind and have missed all the hoopla...but where did all the tutorials go instead of the newsletter?

Apparently everything is being revamped and much is being moved over to the SG blog. I amonst others are greatly missing my early morning NL fix.. Just not the same for me.. :(

  9. Have you ever had Minnesota Soup? My daughter couldn't say Minestrone...It came out Minnesota. Now I have to take a picture of her with the leftovers so I can scrap the story!

      LOVE it! That an psgetti!

  10. Is it best to create accounts for the children? Or is it okay for the parent to post their layouts for them? My issues are not with Scrapgirls but with setting up too many email addresses.
  11. I love this! He's got a great expression on his face! The layout is fascinating, too. I am surprised by the color scheme because there doesn't appear to be any green in the picture at all..so how did you come up with this color scheme? It works extremely well!
  12. Gorgeous photograph of your mother! Your layout does it justice with its simplicity. Beautiful!
  13. Looks like that was a lot of fun! The birthday & the layout!
  14. Hah! Thought no one would EVER want to see one of my pictures in a pre-assembled layout...you gals always keep me guessing! Her two comforts...Mommy & her fingers. This was: COL_Amazing_Jif6_LO, but I reduced the size of the title and added "comfort" with COL_InspireMe_Alpha
  15. Awesome! The Layout & the acceptance! I love the shadowing on the poinsettias & the snowflakes...they don't seem to be floating exactly...but the shadows aren't right up next to them. It's a great three-dimensional look!
  16. I love this! What a great way to build a collage without having it too busy! Awesome idea and a great job making the idea reality.
  17. So I wanted the BOYS to be interested in scrapbooking and set each of them down in front of the boutique. Quite surprizing what they were interested in.

Watercolor Spring Collection? That is a surprise. Just when you thought you hd them all figured out.....

  18. I love the titles you used in organizing your scrapbooking supplies. They are so cute...but they make a lot of sense, too. I have organizing by embellishment type...but I find there are some that I cannot file very well. Your way, may help me over that hump. thanks for the idea...you don't mind if I use it, do you?

  19. Congratulations on being a Monthly Layout Winner. It really is a beautiful layout. She's precious, too!

  20. Hope it's okay to post in both places. (I posted this for the January JumpStart Game, too). I DID use the Date Strips. My brain is coming up with all sorts of ideas for using these latest Club offerings...Just wish I had the time for them all!
  21. I haven't used styles very much in the past...so I'm trying to experiment more with them. Here I used the "Pencil Drawing" style in PSE8. But it looked too bland. I couldn't see the facial features very well. So I put the pencil drawings over the original photo and took the opacity of the pencil drawings down a bit to let the picture show through. The big picture was similar, except that I used the BGBlenders brush separately on each layer. I tried merging these two layers together...but when I did that it changed the look entirely. Not sure why that was. More experimentation needed! The final actually has his classmates in the photo frames instead of repeating him...but I didn't feel okay about putting their pictures up without parental permission...but it is really cute with the different kids in the frame.
  22. Darn! Thought I had it right to the crunchy brown crust but it was a bit scorched.

  23. From the album: Hannah's Scrapbook

Another one for Hannah's Album...Her idea...Daddy went along with it. Tabitha & Samuel joined the party on their own.
  24. So we were gifted a used binder-style date-minder in pink & brown. It makes a perfect scrapbook album for my almost six-year-old daughter. This is the first page that we have created together for that album. It is a double-page spread at 5"x7" on each side. Details in EXIF.
