One year ago I had my kidney removed, it was diseased. I ended up in ICU on deaths door. I am grateful, thankful, and happy that I am now healthier, lost 60 lbs, my eyelashes and eyebrows have grown back. Hopefully my hair soon as well. It’s amazing how one organ in your body can affect you so much. Grateful to the Lord for his many blessings. Have a super Easter to those who celebrate! 🐣♥️

I'm just getting over a persistent virus. It started on Christmas Eve, and lasted throughout the entire week of Holidays! Bagh, I hate being sick, lol. I missed everything. So sad, but I FaceTimed with my family for a while to see the kids open their presents.

Turns out my cold is COVID! My poor family, grandchildren. 😭

I'm curious. How much time do you spend on a layout? On average. I think mine average 15-20 minutes max. And they show it LOL As my only "art" its either easy and I know what I want or its hard and I leave it simple. But I feel like maybe I'm not taking enough time to really create art (not looking for compliments, just thinking outloud). My layouts fit me. But I see the craft and art you all create and I wonder, how much time do you spend per layout?
-
Well, it depends. But on the average 6-7 hours. I usually have a picture in my mind that I will try to match. And sometimes I just can't find the right things to use. Nothing I try will look right. Which is ridiculous as I have Ts of stash. I'm like Celestine, sort of a perfectionist! Then I either make something or go buy something. Which also can take hours!! I'm also like Marilyn and enjoy looking through all my stuff. I also like to look at everything when I'm looking to buy something. All takes time. But hey, this is a hobby and something I do for enjoyment. So, how ever long it takes just fine. Just take as much, or little, time as makes you happy!!

Anyone got their 2024 calendars done yet? Got mine finished and ordered last night. First big printing from Shutterfly. Hope they do a decent job. Costco spoiled me!! Now on to Christmas cards.

6 week post-op appointment yesterday...no more sling, increase PT to 3 times a week and I can drive again. Just in time Granddaughter arrives tomorrow of a week of adventures with us.

Update. 1 week post op..surgery went well. Less pain. I’ll be glad to be out of the block sling so I can move my arm a little. Thank you all for the notes. I want to scrap.

A week from tomorrow starts our Anniversary celebration!

On Tuesday I will be getting a shoulder replacement so will not be able to scrap for 3-4 weeks till I can take the sling off. I will be watching from the sidelines!!! Happy Scrapping ScrapGirls

I am so happy, had to share the news. Got this message a few minutes ago: "Your art piece, I'm Rare, matched all contest rules and guidelines and has moved forward to judging." So Awesome!! Incidentally, this is the same piece that made it into New Hampshire's Institute of Disabilities 2024 calendar!

Well the Dr says I’m a tough old broad. A car rolled over my leg tonight. I was helping a neighbor move her car, we were pushing, suddenly it started moving, I tried to jump in and pull the handbrake, and I fell over, and it rolled right over me. I went to the ER, bruised, scraped, but miraculously no broken bones! I’m in a lot of pain, but ok. I’m just lucky it never rolled over my hips or torso. Just have a follow up and things to watch out for. But I didn’t die. Lol.

Went to check Carol W's sale one more time and followed the rabbit down the shopping hole. Started looking for frames and ribbons and it went to %!*%! in a handbasket after that! Spent 4 hours just browsing and not getting anythings else done. Did add to my stash though. Don't tell my hubby!!🤭

Just looked at the Carol W Designs Garage Sale newsletter and then went to the sale link. So many of my favorites from her are leaving the store! 😲 Better get 'em while you can!

Sorry all that I haven't been around this week. My dad was admitted to the emergency room on Tuesday. So I've been dealing with that, helping take care of their dog, etc.

PSCC updated yesterday automatically to the 2023 version. Now it's telling me I need a driver update. UGH. Hopefully it's a simple download from the manufacturer. It's telling me my driver software is 34 months old and it needs to be 6 months old or less. Hopefully I can figure this out today and get back up and running.

Yesterday we officially adopted Jock, our foster dog. I'm thrilled that he has got his forever home. ❤️
-
I discovered on PSCC last night that there are thousands of fonts included. After poking around I figured out how to "activate" some fonts, but I cannot figure out how to access them. Does anyone know?

Yesterday I lay down for a nap at about 2pm….. woke up this morning at 8:15 longest nap in history! My body must have needed that.

My health took a downward turn… ugh. It’s been 8 weeks! I was making a salad yesterday and my feet felt sticky on the floor… I looked. Blood. My incision split open 1”- again. I want to feel good just one day. Just one day of energy will do.

We already have a haze of wildfire smoke - so early that it already feels like autumn, and the weather just warmed up!

Yay, we are out of the ICU. She is still on the heart monitor though, but we’re in the regular ward now. She went for a walk today and has her sense of humor back. We’re so happy to be here. More info tomorrow.

Who else likes fonts?! I have over 3.5K bogging down my system! Someday I will go through and delete the majority of what I don't use ... However - until that day ...
Here is a link to (with Angie's permission) a site that has hundreds of (very cute) free fonts: https://fontsforpeas.com/
-
I'm font crazy also!! I use two font managers, Fontbase and Nexus. They have have free and money. With Nexus you can uninstall and/or delete. FontBase only shows and lets you use the font when it is open. You activate a font and use and when the program closes so does the font. Here awhile back I uninstalled over 5000 and deleted a bunch of them. I still have about 10000 installed, Waaaay toooo many. Will have to check out that site when I get home. Amy, you are a bad girl!! And our great leader Angie is also a great enabler!!! Oh well, I have lots of disk space.
