OOOOhhhhh, Jane how pretty and your photo background is gorgeous while the treatment you used makes it look like a watercolor painting! Beautiful photos all around and I really like your framing and the embellishments you used. I also really like the raised photo - it really makes it stand out even more. Lovely page and so cheery and sunny. Only one problem here - I sure wish WE had spring coming here instead of winter. Can I come visit you? -

What a great page, Ann and I'll bet it was a real walk through memory lane creating it. Your photos are wonderful - what special treausures to scrap! I really like how you put your backgroudn together and arranged your photos with the larger one blended and the smaller two framed - you are so cute! Pretty embellishments and I really like how you used the arrows and your journaling too. Super page! -

Ohhh.. Carla I was so sorry to hear about your friend. What a wonderful memory you have preserved here with your special photo. They both look so young, it's sad. OHhhhh... SO wonderful Anna and I'm so glad you were able to scrap and have it therapeutic too. Also very happy that you enjoyed the challenges and were able to journal - the same thing happened to me, I just kept writing and it was private so I "hid" it, but it was helpful to me. Lovely, lovely page. I really like how wonderfully you made the art doll and holding a key and standing in front of the measuring tape. Your background is beautiful and so amazingly blended and I really like the key words you used and the special symbols you scattered around the page making it even more meaningful to you. I love the colors you used and the swirl, oh I keep looking and looking around this awesome page and finding more and more to look at! Thanks for adding your own personal thoughtful creativity to the Thursday challenge and new Art Journaling Gallery! -

Hi Belle! Thank you for your kind comments on my layouts, I always love to read them. I like those sketchbook templates too, but also sometimes have trouble. What I did this time was to clip papers to each set of sketch lines. After I clipped my photo to the mask I then erased softened the lines because I don't like hard photo lines against the soft sketchy ones.

Tuesday Freebie & HNC Nature 9/24 & 25 2013

I combined two challenges for this layout, the Tuesday Freebie (I used two old freebies and one of the required - Denim heart) and made a nature layout for the HNC! These two prairie dogs at the zoo were so cute! Thanks for your notes, Jo I enjoyed reading about your process and especially appreciate your journaling typed here as I have a little screen and I so wanted to read your words! And I'm really glad I could because me too - love your stories and these both are so special and interesting. Your journaling is heartfelt and enjoyable - I can picture my own Dad not using words as "I love you's" but he surely did show it. I'm so glad you wrote these both out - one of the definitions I've found of Art Journaling is "like a written journal but using art" and you've certainly done that! And it's personal so truly "anything goes". I really like your beautifully blended background and the words you scattered around to define your stories. Awesome art journal page! Oh, I LOVE this CheryllAnn and what a sweet memory to scrap as a first. Your background is amazing and really brings me to the magical christmas eve sky watching for Santa and I love the colors and blending you used so beautifully. I also really like the words and phrases you scattered around the page showing your anticipation and excitement and I remembered my own times waiting to hear Santa's bells in the distance. I really like the glowing moon and Santa's sleigh flying through the sky and especially the little you in the corner watching with the houses below. Awesome art journal page!
