    My February

Ha ha, very entertaining February layout! And Baywatch, lol! I was too young for the first Baywatch, and haven't watched the new one yet. Love your daughter's new dog, he's gorgeous! Awesome on the watercolor classes - is that the medium for doing your 100 Day Project? And, I'll have to check out Skillshare.

    PL 2024 Week 8

This is a wonderful thing to do! Great that you got photos of it. I remember my first year in the Air Force, I was stationed in Biloxi, MS, and I used to go walking on a very boggy trail. Parts of the trail had bog bridges; I had never seen that before, but they were very nice to have, otherwise I would have sunk deep!
  3. Oh, Max and Lucy are adorable! They look very energetic, too! Love the watercolors on your layout.

    Project-Life-week8

Wait... duck fart shots?!!! Ha ha! Looks like a very busy week, wonderful photos!
  5. LOL, hopefully Lukas eventually let you finish "his" bear. He looks sleepy in this photo, I'm sure the bear was cozy. Happy bday to Tequila!
  6. Such cute photos, I love the outdoors photos, and Lukas is adorable, I'm glad he loves fruit.
  7. I love your page! Your toys are adorable, I'm so impressed by everything you've made. I'll have to check out Reach for a Dream. And good for Esti - I've also been trying to learn how to crochet, but it's not going very well. 😩 My stitches get tighter and tighter as I add rows, it's so frustrating!!! 🤣
  8. I like your treatment of the Epcot ball photo. Absolutely LOVE the Embrace Your Differences exhibit, I wish I could see it. Love that quote, too. I hope your granddaughter had fun in the gymnastics tournament. Sounds like it was a fun month!
  9. Wait, is it really already March 9th?!!! 🤪 Time escaped me. I'm here, spending part of today getting caught up on PL tasks. I will be back soon with the updated chart, and with our February prize winner!
  10. Last task for layout #1 (Saturday, 9 March): Add date, location, shadows, and other last tweaks, then upload your layout to the Slow Scrap Gallery. Come back to this thread and leave a link to your layout so we can all admire it! Remember, if you upload your layout by midnight tomorrow night (Sunday, March 10th, by midnight ET), you will be entered into Layout #1 drawing for a $5 gift certificate to the Scrap Girls Shop!
  11. Layout #1, Task 7 (Friday, March 8th): Oh, how I do love randomness! Just randomly throwing that statement out there... TASK: If you wish, you may choose three of your embellishments to remove, but you must add this random embellishment to your page somewhere: A hat! The type or style of hat does not matter, just add a hat to your layout. If you don't WANT to remove any embellishments, you don't have to (I think I'm too nice), but you still must add that perfect hat to top your layout off! 😄
  12. Layout #1, Task 6 (Thursday, March 7th): Well now, these layouts really are looking too nice. But today might not be the day to mess things up... let's get our journaling done! TASK: Add journaling to your page. The journaling does not have to be much, but add at least two lines, and... and ready? Your journaling lines can't be completely horizontal on your page. You must angle them, anywhere between 10% and 90%! But I'll be nice, you can angle them clockwise or counterclockwise (positive angle or negative angle). I'm sure this will mess with anyone in the group who harbors OCD tendencies.
  13. Layout #1, Task 5 (Wednesday, March 6th): Yes, I worried about layout #1 getting a bit full, since we have two extra tasks for it - but so far I'm really impressed, I love everyone's layouts! And, I don't think today's task will be too bad... 😬😁 TASK: Find two more embellishments to add to your layout, but blend them into the background in some way. I very much like using blending modes (in PhotoShop), but you can also simply reduce the opacity of the embellishment, so that the background shows through. If you want to, you may duplicate either or both new embellishments as many times as you wish. See? Not so bad! 🥸
  14. Layout #1, Task 4 (Tuesday, March 5th): Sounds like we had fun with those 8 embellishments and 3 word strips! Yay! And ummm... I realized that I did not follow my own directions... I chose more than 3 photos. I will have to decide how to punish myself for that. In the meantime, here is task 4: 1. Add a title to your layout. You may use either alphas or a font, but make the title large and IN CHARGE! 2. My goodness, who do I think I am, giving more than one crazy task in a day?!!! Using an alpha of your choice, add a number to your layout. Any number, but use a number/numbers from an alpha set. The number does not have to be large and IN CHARGE, but we must be able to see it, even if it's small. Note: If you don't own any alpha sets, then you are allowed to use a number from a font. But I know most of you out there do own alpha sets... I've got my eyes on you! 🤩 *LOL, no worries, remember, I will NOT be policing your layouts - this is supposed to be fun, and I myself already messed up by adding more than 3 photos!*
  15. Hmmmm, Jane, methinks your layout looks awfully pretty for March Madness... I'll see what I can do about that this week! 🤣
  16. Layout #1, Task 3 (Monday, 4 March): Add 8 unique embellishments PLUS 3 unique word strips! Unique in this setting means they are all different from each other, although (for example) you may have two different styles and colors of buttons and that would count as 2 embellishments. In contrast, using a button twice and changing the size does not count as 2 unique elements. If you would like more than 8 embellishments at this point, feel free to duplicate some of your 8 unique elements! 😁
  17. Don't feel pressured to post your progress, but I thought I would show where I am. Here is my progress so far:
  18. I updated task #2 above; when I said "zigzags" I was picturing chevrons - whatever paper you find that might fit either zigs, zags, or chevrons, go for it! 😄
  19. Kelly, you can take any sort of inspiration from one of the photos you want - colors, feel, something in the photo. You certainly don't have to find a photo of a llama, although I do have some alpaca photos I might use, lol.
  20. Carla, you're ahead of me! I'll get my act together on Saturday, hopefully.
  21. LAYOUT #1, TASK #2 (Saturday, March 2nd): Add a third paper; it needs to either have polka dots on it, or zig-zags/chevrons. Second task, add either a frame to one of your photos, or use a mask for one of your photos. Or do both, if you choose. 😜
  22. Aaawww, such a cute photo! I like your moody background ombre paper, it matches the photo well.
  23. LAYOUT #1, TASK 1 (Friday, March 1st): Using one of the following two photos as inspiration, choose two or three photos to scrap, and two background papers, to start your layout off. Both photos are from Pexels.com; the llama credit goes to Karolina Grabowska, and the house photo credit goes to Ksenia Chernaya.
  24. Welcome to March Madness! Every year during the month of March (in honor of the U.S. NCAA basketball tournament also known as March Madness), we hold a crazy, upside down and backwards slow scrap. You'll never know where your layouts will end up - but hopefully by the end of the month you'll have 4 awesome...er, well, at least interesting... layouts to admire. Really, it won't be THAT bad, but it should be fun! Here are the rules: We will create one layout each week this month, for a total of 4 layouts. Every day Monday-Saturday, I will post a task for you. Follow each task to the best of your ability, but don't overthink it - there are no layout police here! After each week concludes, there will be a drawing for a $5 gift certificate to the SG Shop. In order to be eligible for the weekly drawing, you must post that week's layout in the Slow Scrap Gallery by Sunday night, midnight ET. At the end of the month, there will be a Grand Prize drawing for a $20 gift certificate to the SG Shop; the number of entries you earn will equal the number of weekly layouts you post by Sunday night March 31st, midnight ET. For example, if you only manage to finish 2 of the 4 layouts during the month, you'll earn 2 entries into the Grand Prize drawing. Also, the layouts don't need to be posted by the end of each week in order to count toward the Grand Prize drawing - they just have to be posted by midnight March 31st. This will help all you procrastinators out there! Our first week will be a little longer - it will run March 1st - March 9th, and I'll post tasks every day during that time, except for Sunday (there will be no task posted Sunday, March 3rd). Ready for your first task? See below!
  25. I tend to forget the date and location, then I have to fix it and upload again. Ugh!
