  2. Hi ladies, can anyone describe to me what a 'pumpkin patch' really means? Is that a field of pumpkins, or some sort of party where pumpkins are carved? I cannot seem to find the exact meaning on the internet. Thanks! by the way, my photobook has been delivered and it looks gorgeous! Again, I'm impressed by Blurbs quality.

"Pumpkin Patch" in Aussie Land is a shop where you can buy children's clothes. Very little carving of Pumpkins down these parts. Kay

Well thanks ladies for the explanation, I understand now. @Kay, yes, I got that result too when I was searching on the internet. My daughter even has a t-shirt from Pumpkin Patch, here in Belgium!

How interesting that there are so many different meanings. I've always lived where we can grow pumpkins, so a "pumpkin patch" is literally the field where we grow the pumpkins.

  3. 2011 - A year in scraps. That's the name of my photobook, that has finally been uploaded to Blurb. It contains 332 pages, and I should receive it by Friday 7th September!!! I've worked a whole year on this, so I'm really excited. Most of the layouts are in my gallery here, but the books contains some layouts that have not been put in any gallery yet. This is the link to Blurbs preview, if you would be interested http://www.blurb.com/bookstore/invited/2886697/dc53565375...

  4. Three hoorays for Gotye and his song 'Somebody that I used to know'!!! I just heard on the news that he's number one in the American billboards. Gotye is belgian (but lives in Australia), hence my three hoorays :-)

It was number one in Belgium last autumn and it was the most downloaded song of 2011. I still love it, even after hearing it so often.

  5. Sigh Sigh ... so many things to do and I don't have time left for scrapping, apart from that little bookmark... It'll be June before I will have time again ... :-(

I saw on the news a report of the commemoration (is that even the correct word) in Lommel, where 15 children and their teacher and ski coach were remembered in a very impressive gathering. To see these white coffins of the children, it's just horrible. I cannot begin to imagine what the parents are going through.

  7. Wow, the new Scrap Club Collection 'Butterfly Effect' is totally awesome! I'm looking forward to making layouts with it.

Those are fun - the moderator posts an ad & you use it to inspire a layout. Keep an eye out for the announcement & the info will be in there.

  11. I have a question about a translation... We are discussing a title, '20 ways of celebrating a special moment', and we were wondering if you say in English 'of celebrating a special moment' or 'to celebrate' or 'to celebrate a special moment'. Which is correct? I'd be forever greatful to get a correct answer from a native speaker ... :-)

Dianne is right - either would work. To is maybe a little less formal and obviously the one that comes to mind first for most people. Your English is great, but love to help with the little oddities of the language.

Well, it's for a marketing action at work actually. So it is quite official, but on the other hand, the title can be 'casual'. Somebody at work today said that both were correct, so it is quite confusing, and I did not find sufficient information in the online edition of the Oxford Advanced Learners Dictionary, so I thought, well, I have some new friends in America :-), I'll ask them. Florida Granny, what do you mean by 'a gerund' what is that?

    4. Florida granny

      Florida granny

Sorry I didn't see this sooner. A gerund is a verb used as a noun. For example: "Her piano playing was excellent." The word "playing" is a gerund. I hope I am not confusing you!!

  12. Does anyone know how I can start adding friends?

You are welcome! Your work is truly lovely -- I'm so glad whenever you post something.

  14. Hi Joyce, thank you so much, you make me blush! I've discovered Digital Scrapbooking only last spring when I was looking for images for a festival poster I made, as an end assignment. You see, I finished a four year graphic design education in June. If at any time Scrapgirls would need another layout artist, I would be happy to apply, I just LOVE digital scrapbooking!

  15. Hi KayMitch, thanks for your wishes! Do you remember what town your grandfather was from?

  16. Thanks, Florida Granny!! I'm so glad I won!!!
