  4. From the album: Gifts

My friend became the mayor of his home town last week and I didn't know what to give him as a gift, so I made a scrapped image. I downloaded a picture his sister took from Facebook, removed the background using Jody's technique and then applied the silhouette action. To really highlight the moment I then went back to the original picture and extracted the chain and applied the metallics action. This is a really different type of scrapbooking for me and I really like it. Way-to-go, YAY, Kate! Great start to the year. :)

  6. From the album: 2013 year book

For this year's photo book I am planning on doing an introduction page for each month consisting of a calendar of the key dates. I'm hoping this will act as a reminder for the days we don't take photographs. However, if I'd known it was going to take as long as this did I probably would have given up on the idea As the following pages will include the photographs from the month I'm not planning on including any on these pages, however I couldn't resist adding this one of my friend taken on my camera while I was out of the room and didn't fit on any other pages! 8. I like the glittery title. My next layout is a calendar of January (I'm a little behind) and this has reminded me why I want a summary of the month.
  9. From the album: 2013 year book

The random shots from January. My husband thinks there should be a gap between the pictures, but I'm concerned that will take up valuable photograph space. What do you think? Journalling: 1. On the swings with Aunty Sophy 2. Playing with Matthew’s blanket 3. Beth making sieve hats for her and Matthew 4. Making imaginary porridge with musical drumsticks 5. I'm sick of this layout. I started it for the Tool Time Challenge and I've only just finished it. I could not get a combination of papers I liked with the template. As I didn't meet the criteria for the challenge I've put it in my own gallery. As well as drop shadows I used 3 styles and 1 custom shape (for the pink square layer). Journalling: 1. Ribbon in her hair just like Rapunzel in Tangled 2. First time on the high bar 3. Borrowing Mimi’s shower hat 4. Role play; “reading a book to a group of children” 5. Helping to vacuum ready for visitors 6. Helping to wash Elly’s hair 7. & 8. 11. Thank you, for your help with my blog. It is now sorted and links now work. I got in touch with the framework creators and it turns out I had a dodgy plugin.

  12. How are you doing finding a Google Reader alternative? I'm enjoying Feedly, although I miss the stats.

  13. Any web experts out there? Why does my blog not like any of links to be followed? http://www.darktea.co.uk/blog

Ah, okay. There's something in there somewhere that's blocking the linking. I'm sure someone here can help!

Did you write the theme from scratch or did you base it on an existing theme? Sometimes the themes don't keep up with Wordpress updates. There's definitely some quirkiness going on. If you host it yourself, you could set up another testblog with another theme and see if you have anymore luck.

It is a child theme using the thematic framework. I upgraded to the latest version of thematic and it messed it up so I downgraded again. I probably need a new theme, but have no interest in coding one again and not sure about to choose / purchase a new one.

I like the simplicity of the layout, it really works with the sequence of pictures.
  15. Another picture I've just saved to my inspiration list. It just makes me feel relaxed looking at it.
  16. I've just saved this to my inspiration list. I can't isolate one or two things I like about it, it is just the whole compilation that I think is Awesome!
  17. I've just saved this to my inspiration list, it is great. The split pictures works so well with the different tones. I hope I find a suitable picture of one of my kids to try it on.
  18. Thank you for the comment about the rice cake monster, it made me realise I hadn't actually included that picture! I've now sorted it.

  19. Thank you for this comment, it made me realise I'd forgotten to include that picture. Now sorted.

  23. It would have been a fun layout with just beard to no beard, but I absolutely love the in progress shots. It will be a really good layout to look at in the future.
  24. From the album: 2013 year book

A compilation of random photographs of Matthew. The inspiration comes from a graphic design book my husband gave me for Christmas. This is the second layout I've done based on what I've ready in the book (using geometric shape in ordered fashion), the first was based on circles. Journalling: 1.
