    Doors-in-Cuba-2

TMD_AgedtoPerfection,SNU_1-2-BuckleMyShoe My pic's Journaling-I was amazed by the stunning architecture in Havana. In it’s prime it must have been a very gorgeous city. Now much has fallen into ruins but what is left is very beautiful The doors and windows were very ornate and each one is different. The colors have faded and paint peeled but there it still much beauty. They are trying to rebuild but have trouble getting supplies. I wish them luck restoring this once elegant city.
  10. AND_FamilyTies, MPE_JournalArtsy, CTH_Twopagespread My photos- journaling-Sunday we took Tony & Nancy to meet up with Linda & Dave Hull and friend Julie at NJoy distillery, the 5 mile drive on the sand road made a mess of my van again but it was so much fun. We had a great visit with them, a glass of wine with a great Cuban from the food truck. We hung around chatting for a few hours. They even took a photo of us for their website. Monday we went to the club for music but didn’t eat there. Tuesday I went for eye exam, all is well so I ordered more contact lenses. I picked up a few things at grocery then spent the rest of the day getting ready for the wine tasting party for 20 we were having next night. Wednesday Jay was gone all day to a mini-golf tournament and lunch with the guys. Maddy and I went to the Nauti-Oar for lunch so had a nice visit just the two of us. I prepped the last of the food, the wine tasting was a blast but I was tired after all the work, everyone loved it so it was worth it. I noticed that Queenie was going into my flower garden so checked for eggs...yup there were some but it seems that she is not guarding them so the racoon is getting the eggs. She has not been back so I think she has moved to another yard. The loquat tree is loaded with fruit, neighbor Dan is getting the ones that lean over and I have picked some but there are just so many I still have jelly and chutney from last year. Karyn and Kimmie are coming over toe pick some. Jay has been recording the CD’s and putting on thumb drives so we can use them in van, truck, camper and house. He is blending them with the 1,700 songs on the thumb drives from Tim so we will have plenty of music. Maddy and I went to the pool for an afternoon of relaxing on Thursday. Sun, chat , swim and more sun..energizes me. I’ve been double-checking and loading our travel reservations into an excel file. The monarchs are starting the emerge, it’s so exciting. Friday I went to Michelle's to look at the supplies we have to use for the resin art class we are organizing for the club. I made a new flyer for it so this will get people to sign up- hopefully no more than 20. I cleaned up my herb garden pots and trimmed some plants. Some of the giant milk weed plant have rooted so I will plant them in the ground. I updated some flyers for the club. Jay changed the gas in the generator to get i ready for our summer trip. I released 2 Monarchs. Saturday night trivia at the club was fun. Our team won..first time ever. We stayed after to party with Rich’s family, it was a fun end to the week
