  1. From the album Mediterranean Cruise 2015

These are the last few pages from our Mediterranean Cruise. Over the holidays, Mom and I got together and finished these pages and the album. Here's the journaling for this one: "We spent our last afternoon in Barcelona exploring the glorious Basilica of Sagrada Familia. Above the high altar is the baldachin, which supports Jesus’ cross and is edged with lights. The vaults of the transept are supported by a mystic forest of stone trees. The transept faces dawn and dusk, in order to illuminate the temple during the early and late hours of the day. Light streams through the magnificent stained glass windows reflecting from the pillars and coloring the floor - and the visitors." Mom (jhbren) actually created the left page and posted it a while back (http://scrapgirls.net/forum/gallery/image/164013-sagrada-familia/). Since we wanted to include a few more pictures we just used all the same products to create another page to go with it. Files are in the EXIF. Thanks for looking & Have a blessed day!

These are the last few pages from our Mediterranean Cruise. Over the holidays, Mom and I got together and finished these pages and the album. Here's the journaling for this one: "On September 24th, 2015, we flew into Barcelona, Spain and got settled in our hotel. After naps, we explored the nearby area, rambling down the La Rambla, and saw the Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia, and the Columbus Monument. We enjoyed dinner at the Los Caracoles restaurant, walking through the kitchen to get to our table. As we wandered down La Rambla, we stumbled across the Feast of La Mercé. It is Barcelona’s yearly homage to its patron saint, celebrated since 1871. Part of the entertainment includes the “castellers”, or human pyramids climbing up several stories high, and various concerts. " Files are in the EXIF. Thanks for looking & Have a blessed day!

These are the last few pages from our Mediterranean Cruise. Over the holidays, Mom and I got together and finished these pages and the album. Here's the journaling for this one: "Each evening out stateroom attendants would visit our rooms while we were at dinner. They turned down our beds, left chocolates for us to enjoy, and created friendly critters out of towels to amuse us and wish us goodnight." Files are in the EXIF. Thanks for looking & Have a blessed day!
  4. From the album Mediterranean Cruise 2015

These pages are for our day in Kotor Montenegro during our Mediterranean cruise. Left page of two. Here's the journaling: "On October 3rd, we sailed into the Bay of Kotor on the Adriatic coast. Kotor Bay is the deepest natural fjord-like bay in the Mediterranean Sea, and the scenery around it (including the steep mountains which come almost straight down to the water’s edge) is spectacular. The port of Kotor was originally settled by the Romans but has been claimed by many over the years including the Venetian Republic, Ottoman Empire, Austrian Empire, and Yugoslavia. Finally in 2006 the newly formed independent country of Montenegro took over. The Venetians built Kotor’s impressive city walls and influenced most of its beautiful, well preserved, architecture. Old Kotor was built like a maze for protective purposes and it is very easy to get lost in its narrow streets and alleys, but our wonderful tour guide, Buruna, kept us on the right path. The old, enclosed city of Kotor is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of Europe’s best-kept examples of the medieval and renaissance eras." Files are in the EXIF. Thanks for looking & Have a blessed day!

  8. From the album Mediterranean Cruise 2015

These pages are for our day in Kotor Montenegro during our Mediterranean cruise. Right page of two. I noticed as I was saving this for posting that the journaling block ran over the page break a bit. I've fixed that in my original saved copy. Here's the journaling: "In the afternoon we visited Our Lady of the Rocks Islet and Church in the Bay of Kotor near the small fishing village of Perast. According to legend, the islet was made over the centuries by local seamen who kept an ancient oath after finding an icon of Madonna and Child on the rock in the sea. Upon returning from each successful voyage, they laid a rock in the Bay. Over time, the islet gradually emerged from the sea. The Church of Our Lady of the Rocks was built in 1632. The church contains 68 paintings by Tripo Kokolja, a famous 17th-century baroque artist from Perast. His most important painting, ten meters long, is The Death of the Virgin. There are also paintings by Italian artists, and an icon (circa 1452) of Our Lady of the Rocks, by Lovro Dobričević of Kotor. The church also houses a famous votive tapestry embroidered by Jacinta Kunić-Mijović from Perast. It took her 25 years to finish it while waiting for her darling to return from a long journey, and eventually, she became blind. She used golden and silver fibers but what makes this tapestry so famous is the fact that she also embroidered her own hair in it. Nearby is the Island of St. George which the 12th century Saint George Benedictine monastery and the old graveyard for the nobility from Perast and the whole Bay of Kotor. Files are in the EXIF. 10. This is beautiful! Absolutely stunning. Great photo and the layout is so serene and really highlights the picture.
  11. Thanks Mom! Hehe, I was trying to get some pictures of you and dad in these pages, but other than the ones in the gondola, where dad either had his camera in front of his face, or his back to the camera, these were the best I had to work with.
  12. From the album Mediterranean Cruise 2015

These pages cover our second day in Venice during our Mediterranean cruise. I wanted them to coordinate with the pages I did for the evening, so I used the same blended texture for the background papers and just changed the color schemes. I also used similar layouts and lots of the same products. Files are in the EXIF. Have a blessed day and thanks for looking!
